Dec-K-ing to two decks

Initial Start Late June

the house, owhiro bay lower deck plywood installed some damp patches have been dried with flame torch view from other side, ready to prime plywood with adhesive view of deck from the sea side lower deck is priimed, view from deck above first sheet of Dec-K-ing membrane glued up reverse view first sheet, membrane down fascia also installed first sheet of Dec-K-ing membrane laid
Because of low temperatures, which effect the adhesive drying correctly below 10 Celcius, we stopped the installation at this point and rescheduled a restart at the end of the Winter. The builder carried on installing the fence and working on the upper deck.

Lower Deck Late October

By the end of October the temperatures had risen above 10C for extended periods of the day.
After 4 months the adhesive primer was just starting to wear off, but it had served it’s purpose over the Winter in keeping the water out of the plywood. A quick sand over and a clean and work continued on from where we left off in June.
The only issue in October is the Spring Winds, and sure enough on a couple of days work was called off due to high winds.

Upper Deck Mid November
