A “tune-up” of a 19 year old Ruberoid Britorch APP torchon Mineral finished membrane, which is in reasonable waterproof condition, but showing signs of UV breakdown on parts of the surface.
Inspect all lap joints for adhesion and re-heat tight where necessary. Torch and hot trowel laps to remove sharpness of the sheet edges.
Wash the deck with XPlus degreaser and waterblast clean. Allow to dry.
Prime the cleaned and dry surface with Hitchins Formstick Primer and allow to dry.
Apply a two heavy coats of Hitchins Traffigard Body Coat FD (Fast Dry) compound to the primed surface by broom to fill voids between mineral chip.
Apply 3rd coat of Traffigard Bodycoat FD and embed 225gram/m2 chopped strand fiberglass, roller over with more Hitchins Traffigard to encapsulate the fiberglass. Allow to dry.
Lightly sand surface to remove sharp edges or loose strands of fibreglass.
Apply two final coats of Hitchins Traffigard Topcoat FD to colour of choice, with fine silica sand added for a non slip finish.
