Garage Roof

plywood roof substrate over garage under construction area inside kerb will be a deck area area outside kerb is open roof area and internal gutter with parapets closeup of gutter and parapet south side view along north side internal gutter internal corner of roof area, framing for new porch starting to prime the kerb with hydroepoxy to seal it starting to prime the kerb with hydroepoxy to seal it plywood installation is complete and roof area is primed with hydroepoxy view across roof area to the north east, primed with hydroepoxy view along north gutter to the east, primed with hydroepoxy view back over the roof to the south east, primed with hydroepoxy view across the roof from inside the house next dry day the plywood is recessed out for the TPO scupper enviroclad TPO scupper is fitted into the recess first sheet of enviroclad TPO is glued into the internal gutter then folded back for the vertical gluing first sheet is in place, 2nd sheet in gutter is split due to higher parapet at this end near end of day in shade, too cold for adhesive to tack off reverse view of partly completed north west gutter, end of day one piece of horizontal membrane laid before temperatures dropped too low bottom piece run right through on south east side gutter bottom piece run right through on south east side gutter

Next day. Very strong winds.
parapet piece glued on, first horizontal sheet laid out and glued up ready to roll into place reverse view, very windy conditions, weights required to hold sheet down same scenerio on main open area of roof, winds of over 60kmph so windy the sheet had to be glued and rolled out in 2 stages main sheet and neighbouring half sheet finally glued down view from opposite corner towards the north west main horizontal sheets down and hot air welded view across roof past new corner framing for new porch last horizontal sheet almost laid

Completion of Garage roof TPO

Third day
kerb cap pieces going on upper piece to parapet on south east side, long length, windy again parapet piece on east end of roof, 2 pieces to match slope of roof kerb caps and parapet pieces in place and partly welded to roof sheet or upstands everything in place, just some detailing to do fluted premade corner about to be welded to corner where kerb meets the porch upstand completed internal and external corners welded in corner from another angle door cill recess lined to comply with NZBC E2 corner from another angle kerb junction at other end into parapet wall view down on completed TPO roof from level above

Level 1 Rear Roofs and Ledges

north side of rear roof, plywood substrate ready reverse view of previous image large skylight on rear roof large skylight on rear roof moisture content of plywood at 27% is too high to lay TPO membrane north side of rear roof is primed with hydroepoxy to allow work to progress hydroepoxy cures on plywood with high moisture content hydroepoxy seals plywood allowing TPO membrane work to progress view down south side of rear roof, hydroepoxy primer applied internal corner on rear roof, door cill step first sheet of TPO cut to shape and glued up ready to fold into place again very windy conditions, timber weights to hold sheet down while glue tacks off second sheet mitred to match first sheet waiting for glue to tack off second fold and glue up second sheet third sheet, wind gust picked up and flipped before got weights on third sheet finally in position and glued up waiting for glue to tack off another big gust of wind flips corner before able to fold half sheet down sheets installed, about to hot air weld mitred lap joint mitred corner lap welded view across rear roof to the north west,low cloud threatening reverse view of previous image internal section of rear roofeast side, still windy, weights required waiting for glue to tack off first half glued down, wind throws other half over second half of sheet weighted down and glued up another mitred corner, to fit the slopes of this roof area behind skylight rear roof view across completed rear roofto the south east TPO to rear roof almost completed, edges yet to be folded and glued to aluminium drip edge rain sets in stopping work this really was a lousy Summer 2016/17 beads of wateron the new TPO membrane next fine day, one sheet through on west side of rear roof finally a calm day, no weights required to hold sheet down west side completed internal corner of rear roof, large upstand under door cill east side ledge. not windy, but weights needed to stop narrow sheet springing flat while gluing up narrow east side ledge laid, edges to be folded and trimmed internal corner area of rear roof completed

Level 1 Front Roofs and Ledges

front roof upper level, two sections north west end of upper level front roof narrow ledge on west side of upper level front roof moisture content of plywood is below 18%, hydroepoxy primer is not necessary substrate inspection checklist includes checking the screw fixing spacing narrow ledge, long piece, timber weight to prevent springing back down when folded cloudy but calm weather, no weights required TPO sheet is laid to narrow ledge reverse view of previous image towards the east front north west corner of upper level roof laid view of same section next sunny day, one piece sheet 2.2 metres wide upper level roof east side, view to west reverse view of previous image towards the east this roof can be laid in one piece 2.0 metres wide, slight breeze but sunny second half of sheet folded back and glued half glued a bit awkward on this roof, no where to stand if whole sheet and plywood glued up 2nd half of 2nd fold back is glued and tacking off close up view of edge with aluminium angle drip edge south east corner with turndowns folded and kickout diverter welded against wall view along west upper level roof with turndowns folded and glued to aluminium drip edge view along front eastern side of upper level roof with turndowns folded and glued to aluminium drip edge typical roof/wall junction with kickout diverter, note overlap of weatherboard below same detail with weatherboards scribed around another wall/roof/corner junction
